Tree removal, trimming and storm cleanup in Little Rock, Arkansas
A dead pine leaning at the roof, an oak limb hanging after last night's storm, a stump you are tired of mowing around. We take trees down in controlled sections, prune the ones worth keeping, grind the stump and haul every branch away.

Every tree job, one phone call
What we do around Little Rock
40 jobs across six kinds of work. If yours is not listed, describe it on the phone and we will tell you which one it is.
Tree Removal
Dead, leaning, storm-cracked or simply in the way. Climbed and lowered in pieces, or lifted out by crane when the yard is tight.
Emergency & Storm
Trees on roofs, limbs on the service drop, driveways blocked. These calls jump the schedule.
Trimming & Pruning
Clearance from the roof, a thinner crown that lets wind through, deadwood out before it drops.
Stumps & Roots
Grind it below grade, dig it out for a slab, or cut the roots lifting your sidewalk.
Tree Health & Planting
Cables for a split trunk, an honest look at a tree you are worried about, and replacements planted right.
Land & Commercial
Lots, pads, fence lines and overgrown acreage, plus grounds work for HOAs and property managers.
Why Little Rock trees fail the way they do
Central Arkansas grows big trees fast and then throws weather at them. The March 31, 2023 tornado cut across west Little Rock from Martindale and Walnut Valley into Midtown and on into North Little Rock, and the survey crews noticed something we see on ordinary jobs too: the pines were pulled out root ball and all, while the oaks snapped at the trunk. Softwood fails at the ground, hardwood fails in the stem.
Ice does the rest. The December 2000 storms put more than an inch of ice on the metro, took out 300,000 customers and left Little Rock and Pine Bluff neighborhoods dark for a week. Long, heavy limbs over a roof are the ones that come down first, which is why we push weight reduction on the big oaks before winter rather than after.
Pines have their own problem. A pine going red-brown from the top in a dry summer is almost always Ips engraver beetle, and brown spot needle blight was confirmed across the southern half of the state in 2025. A dead pine dries out and gets brittle within a season, so the sooner it comes down, the safer the climb and the lower the price.

Step by step
How a job runs from the first call
- 1
You call, we ask four questions
What kind of tree, where it is relative to the house and lines, whether anything is damaged now, and how soon you need it gone.
- 2
A crew lead looks at the tree
In person. You get one price for the whole job, including cleanup and haul-off, with the stump grind quoted separately so you can decide.
- 3
We set the day and the plan
Rigging over a roof, a crane for a tight backyard, or a straight felling on open ground. Utility service drops get called in before we cut near them.
- 4
The work happens in sections
Limbs come down roped and controlled, the trunk comes down in rounds, and the chipper runs as we go so the yard never fills with brush.
- 5
Rake, blow, walk it with you
Sawdust off the driveway, chips hauled or left as mulch if you want them, and a final walk to confirm every limb that was on the list is gone.
How we work
What you can expect from a Martinez Tree Service crew
One price for the whole job
One number for the job including cleanup and haul-off. The stump grind is quoted as its own line so you can say yes or no to it.
Roped and rigged, not dropped
Over a roof, a fence or a neighbor's yard, limbs come down on ropes and a lowering device. We only free-fall on open ground.
Storm calls come first
When a tree is on a house or across a driveway, it moves ahead of scheduled trimming. Call the same number, day or night.
Two offices, one standard
Whether the crew rolls from Stanton Rd in Little Rock or from De Kalb, the rigging, the cleanup and the phone manners are the same.

Questions Little Rock homeowners ask first
Storm calls go to the top of the list. Call (501) 439-8373, tell us whether the tree is on the structure or on a line, and we will give you a straight arrival window on the phone rather than a promise we cannot keep.
Not for a tree on your own lot in most cases. Little Rock's Chapter 15 requires a permit for trees in the public right-of-way or on city property, and protects trees inside a land-use buffer. We tell you if your tree sits in one of those spots.
Published local figures put a typical removal at about $506 to $690, with big trees over 60 feet or hard-access trees closer to $1,000 to $1,200. That is market guidance, not our quote. We price every tree in person.
The stump grind is quoted as its own line. Many people want it done the same day; some leave it. Local guidance runs about $74 to $131 per stump, more in rocky ground.
We trim near the service drop that runs from the pole to your house after calling it in. Lines on the pole side belong to Entergy, and they maintain the trees around them. Never let anyone cut near a primary line.
Sometimes. A lean the tree grew into is normal. A new lean with lifted soil or cracked roots on the back side is not, and that tree comes down. We tell you which one you have.
Yes. The Little Rock office covers the metro out to Conway, Cabot, Benton and Bryant, and the De Kalb office covers Texarkana and the towns between. The coverage page lists where each region ends.
