Driveway and access road clearing around Little Rock and Texarkana
A long rural driveway closes in slowly: a branch that brushes the truck mirror one year is scraping the roof the next, and by the time a propane truck or an ambulance cannot get down it, it is a real problem.
- Width and height cleared
- Trucks and equipment access

Short answer
Driveway and access road clearing around Little Rock and Texarkana cuts back trees and brush along a drive to a set width and overhead clearance, usually enough for delivery trucks, fire apparatus and farm equipment. Limbs are cut back to the trunk or side branches, brush is chipped or mulched, and dead or leaning trees along the road are taken down.

What a clear access road needs

Two measurements matter: width and height. The drive should be wide enough for the largest vehicle that needs to use it, and clear overhead high enough that trucks do not scrape the canopy.
We cut back to the trunk or to side branches rather than shearing the edge, so the regrowth does not close the road again within a season.

Scope
What a road clearing job includes
- Width and height agreed for the largest vehicle

- Canopy raised over the drive
- Small trees in the drive edge removed
- Dead and leaning roadside trees taken down
- Gate and culvert openings cleared wider
- Brush chipped, mulched or hauled
Overgrown rural driveways

On long driveways, trees on both sides lean in toward the light over the gravel. We raise the canopy to a clear height, cut back side limbs to a clear width, and remove small trees growing into the drive edge. Dead and leaning trees along the road come down, since they are the ones that end up across it in the next storm. Brush is chipped and blown back into the woods or hauled.
Clearance for trucks and equipment

Propane trucks, log trucks, fire engines and hay equipment all need more room than a car. We clear to the size of the largest vehicle you expect, raising limbs and widening curves where long vehicles swing wide. On turnarounds and gate openings we clear a little extra so drivers are not backing blind into branches. Low-hanging limbs over the mailbox and the end of the drive get the same treatment, since that is where large trucks usually stop.
Gate and culvert openings
Gate openings and culvert crossings are pinch points where trees crowd in and roots heave the approach. We clear them wider than the rest of the road and cut roots back from gate posts where they are pushing them out of line. Any digging near posts or culverts starts with a utility locate first. Brush piled in ditches and culvert mouths gets pulled out too, so water drains off the road instead of washing out the gravel after heavy rain.
How this job runs around Little Rock
A lot of our clearing calls come from the rural side of the map, around the De Kalb head office on the Texas side of Texarkana, where long gravel drives run through pine and hardwood. The same 24-hour line serves both offices. Before we dig near gate posts or culverts, the Arkansas One Call system at 811 gets the request, as it should for any digging on either side of the state line.
How long access road clearing takes
A few hundred feet of drive is usually a single day. Long rural roads through dense woods can take two or three.
